MARK FRANKEL<\/b>
\nActor Mark Frankel died Sept. 24 in London from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. An investigation to determine the details of the accident is currently underway. He was 34.<\/p>\n
Frankel most recently co-starred in the Aaron Spelling produced TV series “Kindred: The Embraced,” and received his last credit for the forthcoming feature “Roseanne’s Grave,” from New Line Cinema.<\/p>\n
Born in London, Frankel was a professional tennis player during his college years. Frankel landed his first professional role in the play “Days of Cavafy.”<\/p>\n
Director Jerry Landon saw his performance and shortly after cast him as Michelangelo in the 6-hour TNT miniseries “A Season of Giants.” Frankel next co-starred with Julia Ormond, Vanessa Redgrave and Christopher Plummer in the TNT drama “Young Catherine,” which was shot on location in Russia. He has also appeared in several BBC productions including the murder mystery “Vanity Dies Hard” and “Maigret.”<\/p>\n
Frankel made his feature film debut starring in the British comedy “Leon the Pig Farmer.”<\/p>\n
In the U.S., Frankel’s first important part was the recurring role of Simon Bolt in the NBC series “Sisters.” He recently completed a starring role in the British feature “Solitaire for Two.”<\/p>\n
