Remembering dear Mark on this 30th anniversary of his passing. We still honor him after all these years. All love and respect to his family and friends, most especially his mother, dear Grace, whom I am honored to call friend. Love, Katie
Really loved him in Kindred, his passing was a tragedy.
My first knowledge of Mark Frankel was in two movies: Young Catherine & The Kindred. He was an exceptional actor with a stage presence that informed the audience of what character he was portraying. He was striking in appearance, and left the viewer with a sense of wonder and awe. May he continue his rest in peace!!!
He was amazing actor and I love him ias Julian Luna in Kindred the embraced. After 25 years. He will always be remembered as his legacy. I hope his family is doing well. As far his son is an actor he looks so much of is his dad.
Iโd originally seen Mark in Young Catherine years ago, which is still a favorite movie of mine, and loved him as young Count Orlov. But I was rewatching the movie again and thought to look his info up. I could not believe his life was cut so tragically short! To never have known his second son, I canโt imagine how hard it was on his whole family. Even though I never knew him personally, he made my world a bit brighter by his amazing performance in Young Catherine. And I was amazed to see the success of his older son, Fabien, in the GOT spinoff! Both of his sons look so much like him now! I can only wish his whole family the best!
We were best friends when we were at Arundel House School. I stayed round his house all the time where we had play fights for hours and hours. I remember David and Grace and of course Joe, all with very fond memories. He was a really kind gently person and I loved him very much. Sadly he went off to Frencham Height and boarded. My parents couldn't afford it, so our paths went in different directions, but I have a few photos and of course the memories. Rest in peace my old friend. Our other friend Dominic Toner has also passed, so although I'm not a believer, who knows, maybe you're both up there waiting for me. Not that long now in the scheme of things. Julesxxx

An incredibly talented and still beloved actor...Mark Frenkel was a special person, because even now, 27 years after his tragic death, we remember him with great love, respect for his memorable and charismatic images. And when I look into the eyes of Fabien, who is so similar to him, I see the eyes and charisma of young Mark. This is how he was in the role of Michelangelo and in the role of Count Orlov in the series โYoung Catherineโ. And at the pinnacle of his work, my favorite character was Julian Luna from Embraced. Rest in peace, my beloved actor, bright and pure memory to your beautiful soul... There in heaven, perhaps, Angels are also needed to protect us in this earthly life. I think Mark became one of them...๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ค

Last night we watched Maigret and today Rendell Mysteries and immediately looked up Markโs data not realizing his life and loves had been stopped so suddenly. We are aggrieved and want to let all know that his talent is still apparent twentyfive years on. Best wishes to all.
Bc of my interest in Russian history I first saw Mark Frankel when TNT first aired Young Catherine. He blew me away. Then I stumbled on Mark Frankel again in Kindred the Embraced. Again he was excellent. He passed away way too young before his full potential . I will always highly recommend these movies and rewatch them. RIP Mark Frankel. Your screen presence is missed.
His movie young cathrine is still my favorite! I pray his family is doing well.
